NOMAD008: Dubstep / Breaks from Meganesh and Watoo

I’ve been hearing a lot of Dubstep that bores the tits off me recently… This set from Megansesh has definitely rekindled my love for it though… I’d class it is “fucking well interesting” to be honest. Just like dubstep should be. Followed by some more wicked Breakbeat from Watoo, this time on his own…. The unifying features of these sets are “Bass” and “Dirty”.

Summer’s here already, so we set up the decks in the garden and found as many speakers as possible… Here’s DJ Watoo and DJ Cheeky Monkey playing some wicked breakbeat back to back. Despite being hungover to fuck, Planet X create a wicked 2 hour dancehall / disco / block-party style mashup thing…on 4 decks…with some top quality scratching and mixing…and some original dubplates. Marvellous. Don’t know how they did it. Fucking corker

NOMAD005: Jazz and Electronica

Got Quixotic down to play some tunes…he isn’t a DJ, but he writes some beautiful electronic music and as I now know he’s a trained classical composer. No fucking way! Hopefully I’ll get him or his band to do a live set sometime soon. In the meantime, listen to this, and download some of his tunes from archive.org. They are proper good!
