It’s got lots of snooker tables and bitter, and past them a large back room that seems to play host to a lot of very weird bands… Excellent.

Acts apparently include Triclops, Sonic Bear, Blue Light Fever plus others. Visuals, nice lighting, late bar, starts at 8pm. Shouldn’t be more than a fiver in. Top.

Timperley’s favourite Frank Sidebottom has sadly passed away at the good-looking age of 58. A fine talent and a beacon for Manchester awareness Frank was a TV superstar, World-Class musician, DJ and host of Timperley Radio on top of being a genuinely funny guy. He single handedly put Timperley on the map and never strayed far from Manchester throughout his entire life. I had the pleasure of meeting him as well as his son, Little Frank, and they performed a great 80s medley duet together at a car boot sale in Timperley charming the many souls surrounding him. We all gave a standing ovation! Although it was a car boot sale so there probably weren’t many chairs. Frank’s legacy is prolific and his image a cult classic, we all love his music too. In fact we all love his music so much that we should go and buy his last EP from iTunes and see if we can get him to number one in the UK charts so that his family can get the backing to erect a statue of Frank in Timperley centre (preferably between the two postboxes!). Let’s make this possible people!

Also, for one last time, Frank is having a big night out! You can join him and his friends for one last time :

“Yea! I said Yea! unto thee. As the world did turn another genre was born. And the Lord saw that the genre was called drag. Or witch-house. Or ghost drone. (But those last two names were rubbish, so the Lord did cast them out.)

“And the new genre’s grandfather was Salem, born in the depths of history, three-score months ago.

“And there were other bands in the drag family, Balam Acab, White Ring and oOoOO.

“And Lo! The Guardian’s hallowed music pages did write a piece on the new genre. But the hallowed pages neglected both the finest and most evil of the whole drag family; Mater Suspiria Vision…”

Balam Acab

“Mater Suspiria Vision did name their mighty works with titles like Seduction Of The Armageddon Witches and Evil House Of Forbiddden Fruits and Haunted House Of LSD.

“And they did use videomonger Cosmotropia de Xam to create psychedelic videos of fuzziness, terror and isolation. And so it came to pass that all did believe that Mater Suspiria Vision had spent their youth watching exploitation-horror movies.

“(Although this humble scribe does not have proof of this.)

“(But using Suspiria in their name does kind of hint that they love Seventies Euro-horror.)

“Yea.”
